Confession: I secretly have another website on the side

26 February 2008

As regular readers will know, this site is about taking control of technology. Both in a practical sense, how to use some Linux program or some piece of Python code, but also more ethical issues such as open source software, free music, or how the government is trying to control and track us using digital technology.

Sometimes I get comments from the regulars when they think I have gone off topic or lost a few screws, the funniest ones are the complaint about talking about stylesheets and the complaint how to use MySQL, which to me seem on topic, but hey freedom of speech!

Occasionally, I want to write about other subjects but I tend not to, as sites that lose track of their theme can become difficult to follow.

So while experimenting with Django and making blogs with it, I kind of accidentally secretly started another site. I made a fake template and started filling it with content to test the blog setup, but before I knew it I had two posts. Now I have six posts so I had better fess up, come out of the closet and share my secret.

Don't get jealous, this is still my primary soapbox and will get most of my attention. Just occasionally, my libertarian tendencies will boil over and I will want to rant about other topics such as political issues, gender theory and so on. These are not part of this site so I will give those to the mistress site.

It took me six months to get used to writing this site and three years later I feel I am just getting started, so it might take me a little time to find my voice.

So we are still in the honeymoon period, however if you are brave, you can check it her out.

At the moment is has only one real incoming link, the one in that last sentence. If you like it and have your own site, please link to it, share the link love!

About

Hello, my name is Zeth, I'll be your host here.

Command Line Warriors is about taking control of your own technology, it looks at our experiences of computing; especially using GNU/Linux, the Python programming language, the command-line and issues such as techno-ethics, best practices and whatever is cool now. If you take control of your technology then you are a Warrior too!

This site is your site too which means that you can contribute and get involved. You can leave comments using the facility provided. For me, the comments and discussions are by far the best part of the site. So please do have your say!
